To close an outstanding TEDF Subcontract item, the balancing subcontractor needs all the connected chilled water valves fully open except at least 500 GPM of flow not located within the TEDF work area. The cooling equipment that will have chilled water flow isolated are 12-ERU-1, 90-AHU-1, 90-AHU-3, and 58-AHU-33 which totals approximately 533.8 GPM.
Chilled water differential pressure will be lower than normal in the Test Lab North Addition that could impact operation of the UHV furnace.
12-ERU-1 conditions Building 12 F-Wing ventilation air. 12-ERU-1 also has a heat recovery wheel that will condition incoming air. The chilled water coil capacity is typically not required until very hot humid weather.
90-AHU-1 and 90-AHU-2 condition the EEL high bay areas and the Room 108. On days with similar weather projected for Friday, personnel open the roll-up doors which causes the 90-AHU-1 and 90-AHU-3 to stop cooling or heating. The units continue to circulate air until the doors are closed. Areas conditions should be almost as they normally are.
58-AHU-33 conditions the Test Lab North Addition that contains the HDIce area, UHV Furnace Area, and some other shop areas. 58-AHU-39 chilled water valve will be fully open which will add cooling in the HDIce main shop area. The other North Addition areas will not have active cooling but areas temperatures should not rise much above outdoor ambient conditions (guessing mid-seventies).
Balancing work may end 3 PM or earlier, but the work has been scheduled for until 4 PM.
