Minutes of Hall A Group Meeting May 8, 2012
1)	Run Report: Dustin Keller
a)	See link for full report
b)	10 days to go
c)	Friday had a power supply cooling water leak
i)	Replaced hose and came back up relatively quickly (18 
hours down)
d)	GEp finished Wednesday morning
e)	Gives details of the week
f)	Discusses plans for the coming week
2)	Bob Michaels
a)	Requests to extend the run have not been accepted
b)	Meeting today (5/8) at 16:30 for Hall A Staff
3)	Robin Wines
a)	12 GeV:
i)	Møller:
(1)	Girder is in
(2)	Detector box drawings have gone to the shop
(3)	Working on beam pipe, detector support plate. 2 
more weeks to completion
ii)	Compton: all parts being fabricated
b)	Al is working on APEX/PREX apertures
c)	Robin is working on the SBS magnet TOSCA model
d)	Gives list of next projects to be done.
4)	Ed Folts
a)	Trying to keep things afloat
b)	Cleaning up, getting ready for the down and open house.
5)	Doug Higinbotham
a)	Submitted proposal for Polarized 3He target experiment in 
Hall C (Vince did a great job)
b)	Will have a paper circulating soon
c)	Re the collaboration meeting, you need to sign up (see link)
d)	Having problems with the Arc Energy mapper. Hope to get a 
measurement done before the down.
6)	Kalyan Allada
a)	SOLID SIDIS proposal submitted
i)	Working on simulations for it still
b)	Writing proceedings
7)	Jixie Zhang
a)	Took optics data
b)	Did spin dance
c)	Møller measurement (80%)
d)	Right arm optics is limited by septum current
8)	Jian-Ping Chen
a)	Trying to finish g2p
b)	Discusses options and tradeoffs for the next 10 days
c)	Right arm has distorted optics, but can see all the sieve 
holes cleanly.
d)	Organizing workshop in China
e)	Preparing a talk for the QCD Evolution Workshop here next 
week.
9)	Ole Hansen
a)	Preparing talk for the 12 GeV software review
b)	Reading proposals
c)	Hall C is succeeding at decoding data with our analyzer
10)	John LeRose
a)	LOI for a Hypernuclear program in the 12 GeV era submitted
b)	Prepared SBS PR for UVA work. Bob says he signed it.
c)	Looking at acceptance for APEX/PREX
d)	Hypernuclear Collaboration to meet here tomorrow through 
Friday (5/9-11)
11)	Bert Manzlak
a)	Long Shutdown meetings were held today and yesterday. Will 
be posted on the web for those who missed them.
b)	Site-wide cleanup this week
i)	Check out your work areas
ii)	Reminds all that if something has a RADCON tag on it 
and you want to move it, call RADCON (876-1743) and follow 
their instructions
iii)	Reminds all that they must retake SAF100 if you haven?t 
already retaken it (it?s on the web)
