Minutes of Hall A Group Meeting: February 18, 2020

1.      Thia Keppel

a.       Senior Staff Meeting

                                                              i.      Property validation "list of shame" presented - 2 Hall A made top 5

1.      Steve pointed out briefs on 2/3 announced, due 2/5

                                                            ii.      Precarious situation with safety incidents

1.      Check your work plans, documentation

2.      Be careful of students (less experience)

3.      Hall D yesterday had a tooling ball pulled into a magnetized field/colorimeter (even experienced people make mistakes)

4.      Please raise awareness, implement engineering methods wherever possible

                                                          iii.      EIC negotiations continue (Rolf was on call this morning)

1.      BNL team here 2/28

Robin Wines

b.      SBS

                                                              i.      Ordering parts for the Gen-RP detectors

                                                            ii.      Helping with assembly of beam line shielding

                                                          iii.      Finished drawings for weldment modifications for BB GEMs

                                                          iv.      Continue on ECal and ECal support

c.       SoLID

                                                              i.      Continue preparations for coil tests

2.      Jessie Butler

a.       Working on MOLLER risk management documents and SBS installation schedule

b.      Met with S&A on  Monday to discuss survey needs inside the hall during SBS installation

c.       Worked with Jack in the hall on troubleshooting and repairing the LQ2

                                                              i.      Required removing the guards, checking the leads, and cleaning up some connector on top of the magnet

d.      Continued working on SBS exit beam line shielding

e.       Worked on putting together part for SBS hydraulic system

f.        Worked with Todd A to level GRINCH inside Big Bite detector

g.      Started to work on cleaning up our area in Test Lab

h.      Open crates that contained SOLID equipment in Physics Storage

i.        Order and begin prepping pipes for LCW upgrade

j.        Helped remove GEM detector frame from Big Bite detector

3.      Jack Segal

a.       Troubleshooting LQ2

4.      Run Coordinator - Mark Dalton

5.      Featured Speaker - Pavel Degtiarenko: Update on NDX detector measurements in Hall A
