All:
I am continuing to try to find some resolution to this issue, but at the
moment - each outage is more unexpected than the one before. There
were several unplanned outages that occurred today - I have not yet been
briefed on what caused the most recent failure of the power feed from
the 40 MVA sub-station, but I will hope to have the information soon.
I have met with Rusty Sprouse today, and he assures me that he will be
taking direct steps to organize, schedule and regulate the outages to
be (at the very least) predictable... This is a promising step.
Regarding the generator, after speaking with Facilities today, their
proposal
was to power down the generator every 48 hours to add oil... Based on our
mission needs, I believe this is not a feasible solution.
What I will be writing Rusty to request is the rental of a generator to
support
the emergency loop on the End Stations UNTIL the existing generator can be
repaired and load tested for an extended period to ensure that it is
operating
as required.
Because of the urgency of this issue, I expect that I will receive feedback
today on whether this will be possible and will forward that as soon as
possible.
Keep in mind, because of the diversity of power sources that service the
Counting House and the Halls, I can not guarantee that this generator will
support everything - JUST the receptacles that are labeled emergency
power.
