<div><strong>*** IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SHIFT TAKERS: JLab requires wearing masks in public areas due to COVID-19 Community Level increases in the area. Please remember to wear a mask in the counting house.</strong></div><div> </div><div><strong>Saturday, Jan 14th Day Shift:</strong></div><div>- Data taking at CSB Setting 4 (HMS momentum +1.63 GeV - 35 deg) and SHMS at 10 deg and -9.2 GeV.</div><div>- 12:00 MCC starts steering tests. This was necessary not only to be able to provide higher current to Hall C but also provide ANY current to Hall C while they deliver 30 uA to Hall A. See the details here https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4109091. Since we're told that the MCC will go back and forth between CW and tune beam, and the beam current and positions might not be stable during these tests, the target was parked at "home" position while MCC was performing their tests.</div><div>- No beam until the end of day shift.</div><div> </div><div><strong>Saturday, Jan 1!
4th Swing Shift:</strong></div><div>- 17:10 - Beam is restored to Hall C. Data taking resumed with 60 uA on the 12C target and at CSB Setting 4 (HMS momentum +1.63 GeV/c) and SHMS taking data at 10 deg and -9.2 GeV. Beam quality wasn't the best.</div><div>- 20:40 - Shift crew reported a loud hardware alarm from the target electronics: Loop 2 vent line low pressure https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4109397. Contacted the target expert. Dave Meekins came in and took a brief escorted access to check on the vent line pressure. He explained that the pressure drop in the vent line is most likely due to cold weather outside and he increased flow to the line for a short period to bring the pressure back to acceptable range https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4109412. During the access the shift crew switched to the CSB Setting 5 (HMS momentum +1.44 GeV - 35 deg).</div><div>- 22:00 - Started to take data again on 4He at CSB Setting 5 (HMS momentum +1.44 GeV - 35 deg).</div><div>&nbs!
p;</div><div><strong>Sunday, Jan 15th Owl Shift:</strong></div!
><div>- Productive shift: finished CSB Setting 5 (HMS momentum +1.44 GeV - 35 deg) and most of the targets on Setting 6 (HMS momentum +1.26 GeV - 35 deg).</div><div> </div><div><strong>Sunday, Jan 15th Day Shift:</strong></div><div>- Finishing up CSB Setting 6 (HMS momentum +1.26 GeV - 35 deg) - pending data taking on Al dummy and 4He targets. Acc. is currently down on 1L22-1 trips https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4109882</div><div> </div><div><strong>PLAN:</strong></div><div>- After finishing this setting there will be a polarity change in the HMS (from + to -). We will continue with electron data taking at high Q2 in the HMS (start with 4.08 GeV and 35 deg) on 12C target (ideally with 60 uA) and we're planning to spend a couple hours here. The SHMS kinematics remain the same -9.2 GeV and 10 deg while we will switch to a tighter hodo+preshower HV configuration. </div><div> </div><div> </div><div>No RC meeting today. We will resume the RC meeting tom!
orrow (Monday Jan 16th at 11:00 am).</div><div> </div><div>Have a good weekend!</div><div>-Burcu</div>
