  Hall D Staff Meeting, October 16, 2017

Present: Thomas Britton, Eugene Chudakov (chair), Mark Dalton, Alexandre

    Announcements

Eugene:

  * fire damaged switching station for a warm compressor
      o no spare though one is on order
      o one more failure: no 4 K helium
  * schedule: contingency used up, but no official schedule slip at present
      o Patrizia: cavity check-out still to come (one month to complete)
  * no news on budget
      o but DIRC PMTs will be purchased this fiscal year


    Run Readiness

Tim:

  * solenoid is cold
      o HCO starts this week
      o will schedule a test turn-on
          + Eugene: last time there were voltage spikes on coil 2
          + Beni: mitigated by reducing ramp rate by a factor of 2
      o some gauges/indicators not working
          + Scot Spiegel is coming back from vacation and will address
            issues
  * Target/start-counter will be surveyed
  * DIRC frame assembly work continues

Hovanes:

  * computers in racks in counting room need firmware upgrade
      o all IOCs will be down for an hour or two

Elton:

  * FCAL has many calibration tasks coming up
      o Mark D. volunteers to help
  * prototype muon chamber coming Thursday
      o going to EEL for check-out first
