  Hall D Staff Meeting, August 17, 2020

    Announcements, Eugene

  * Discussion on visas (missed by secretary)
  * Yellow Report on EIC
      o discussion about 1 or 2 spectrometers
      o complementarity to see different effects, or overlap of
        capabilities to confirm each other (a la LHC with ATLAS and CMS)
  * SAD preparations
      o Accelerator and Engineering Division personnel will be busy
      o if we need help from them, we will have to ask in advance
  * end of fiscal year
      o if you have ideas for purchases, including spares and new
        equipment, please contact Eugene
  * PAC
      o GDH and K_L approved
      o from Lab to Hall D for capital about $1M/year
      o sum of projects will need outside funds to go faster than that
      o NPP approved as well
  * Patrizia: PHE budget category ends Sep. 3


    Plans for Hall D during SAD, Tim

  * some items do involve Accelerator, Engineering, and Facilities as well
      o there is a SAD committee to review activities
  * length and scope of Hall D task list will depend on how many
    technical staff can come in at one time
  * items
      o target changes with Keith Chris
      o O-ring replacement for tagger vacuum window
      o temperature and flow sensors for magnets
      o citra flush of BCAL cooling systems
      o goniometer maintenance
      o preparations for CPP


    Future Plans, Eugene

  * FCAL upgrade needs to start
  * Preparations for CPP
  * Running in 2021: SRC and PrimEx
      o SRC needs a new target system, foils and deuterium
  * Major purchases
      o crystals and PMTs for FCAL upgrade (capital budget)
      o other FCAL upgrade items (operations), e.g., signal cables
      o CW bases for lead glass at end-of-life
  * PrimEx hybrid calorimeter will be used for newly approved experiment
