  Hall D Staff Meeting, June 8, 2020

Present: Eugene Chudakov (chair), Mark Dalton, Alexandre Deur, Hovanes

    Remote Work Problems

  * Elton, Beni, Mark D., and Sascha all reported problems with the
    farm/ifarm complex. They will send the details of their difficulties
    to Mark I. and he will submit a consolidated report to the Computer
    Center.
  * HR has worked through its process and Alexander Austregesilo will be
    coming aboard as JLab staff on June 16.


    PAC Preparations

  * GDH, Alexandre
      o waiting for result of vote
      o working on more advanced statement on simulation for proposal
      o no feedback thus far from collaboration
      o send comments to Justin, Alexandre, and Mark D.
  * NPP, Elton
      o no update to web version of proposal
      o will update within a week
          + better job on backgrounds
  * CPP jeopardy, Elton
      o Rory coordinating document
      o final draft this week
      o updates:
          + physics
          + hardware
          + simulations
          + analysis
          + design progress
  * JEF jeopardy, Sascha
      o updates to physics, FCAL upgrade plans
      o Matt is checking the text


    CPP Engineering Progress, Tim

  * ready to purchase off-the-shelf items, will send list to Eugene
  * meeting last Thursday on design issues


    List of Procurements, Eugene

  * please send lists of spares to Eugene
  * major purchases:
      o CPP
      o electronics for FCAL upgrade
  * need assessment of other needed items


    Preventative Maintenance of FCAL PMTs Around Beamhole

  * Elton asked about this
  * Firm plans have not been made, Matt Shepherd seems to favor the idea


    Run Preparations, Eugene

  * discussion with Alexandre about production running vs. test runs
  * rules for social distancing will be in effect, no PPE requests thus far
  * MEDCON4: no PHE charging
  * Beni asked about plans beyond 6-week run, which starts July 27
      o CHL replacement, last until March or April
      o run at low energy, exact value unclear, 11.0-11.2?
          + PrimEx will start
          + then nuclear targets


    Other Items

  * diamond wafers arrived in Eugene's office, will be sent to UConn
  * there is a wiki page
