  Hall D Staff Meeting, February 8, 2021

Present: Alexander Austregesilo, Eugene Chudakov (chair), Mark Dalton, 
Alexandre Deur, Hovanes Egiyan, Sergey Furletov, Mark Ito, Igal Jaegle, 
Keigo Mizutani, Lubomir Pentchev, Patrizia Rossi, Sascha Somov, Simon

    Announcements, Eugene

  * Foreign government disclosure forms were much discussed. New
    guidance went out last week. The deadline was extended until Feb. 28.
  * EIC: CD1 review finished, subsequent schedule is tight
      o CD2 in 18 months
      o CD3 in 9 months
      o little time for R&D
      o Patrizia:
          + CD1 approval by April
          + budget and work need to be aligned
          + CD3: July 2023
          + call for detector proposals will go out next month, deadline
            end of Dec. 2021
          + CD2: Oct. 2022
      o FY21 budget already set
      o all detectors budgeted
      o 30% of detector budget (100 M$) needs to be from outside the
        project
          + agreements with foreign funding agencies need to be
            completed soon
  * CEBAF white paper
      o achievement of 12 GeV
      o discuss increase of energy
      o must be written this summer
  * Diversity and Inclusion: Meet and Greet held with JLab D&I Program
    Lead Steven Uwajeh.
      o GlueX Collaboration working on an effort in this area.
  * Benefits Enrollment starts Feb. 15
  * Covid: 2 cases reported among on-site workers
      o Lab waiting for federal guidance, possible policy changes
  * Please read the weekly briefs.
  * Hovanes: what about property validation
      o Eugene: no known cancellation of the activity, assume that it
        should be done
      o Beni: there is a link on your Insight page
  * Patrizia: PHE time charge category extended until Mar. 31
      o Tim: tech crew has not needed to use PHE since last Oct.
  * Priority vaccination for essential Lab workers may be possible,
    lists are being gathered
  * Patrizia: Lab is revisiting work from home with lab equipment other
    than laptops
      o Tim: no situations where this would be helpful at present
  * GlueX Collaboration Meeting next week


    Work in Hall, Tim

  * DIRC: testing and rebuilding mirrors for next 2 months
  * waiting on help from Facilities with chillers
  * LCW maintenance underway
  * 3D printing jobs going, Bobby Bunton doing the work
  * all flow and temperature sensors for magnet power supplies installed
      o need to be hooked up to CSS
      o adds extra monitoring capabilities
  * CPP/NPP review on Wed.
      o need to install platform on forward carriage and insert into
        FCAL darkroom


    Accelerator Schedule, Eugene

  * Still tentative
  * 2021: Aug. 20--Dec.20
      o PrimEx and SRC
  * 2022: May--Dec
      o CPP/NPP, finish PrimEx, GlueX if there is time
