    Hall D Staff Meeting, February 22, 2021

Present: Alexander Austregesilo, Eugene Chudakov (chair), Mark Dalton,

    Announcements, Eugene

  * Promotion cycle finished, no announcements yet
  * Open enrollment period is running, make your choices before the 26th
  * Tim: DOE has mandated no more than 25% of normal occupancy in
    buildings. EH&S is coming up with a proposal on how to implement


    Work in Hall, Tim

  * DIRC mirrors: testing and set-up
      o procuring borosilicate glass
  * New CSS screens coming from Hovanes on magnet and power supply health
  * Forward carriage move by 5 mm south: trial this week
  * Bids came in for CPP stand, cost a touch high, looking at specs
    which may be driving cost
  * On going maintenance: power supplies, etc.


    Procurement Planning, Eugene

  * Planning procurements for this fiscal year
  * Please report any items needed, greater than a few k$, to Eugene in
    the next couple of weeks
  * FCAL upgrade will dominate procurements


    Remote Shifts, Beni

  * Thinking of how to approach offsite shift taking
  * Will be collecting suggestions
  * What are the tasks that should be assigned?
  * May need hardware purchases to support this activity
  * Sergey: security issue from Computer Center, need multi-factor
    authentication for offsite shift takers
  * Eugene: good experience with VNC into counting room
  * Patrizia: problem of shift load on local people is generic
      o other halls face the same problem
      o common solutions should be explored
      o during HDIce test, people took shifts from Italy
  * Sergey: possible options: VNC, noVNC, x2go
