Hi folks:
GlueX received an invitation to speak at the following workshop and drew the short straw. :-) Actually I needed to go to Greece for personal business so this worked out well.
Can you please give me feedback on the abstract? It is due May 15 or sooner.
Thanks and cheers, Zisis…
Workshop on Exotic Hadrons
August 21-22, 2017
Kolymbari, Crete
Talk Title: Exotic Hadrons at GlueX
Abstract
The goal of the GlueX experiment is to construct quantitative tests of non-perturbative QCD by studying the spectrum of light-quark mesons. This effort will include a search for hybrid mesons that are formed by exciting the gluonic field that couples the quarks. The experiment, housed in the Hall-D facility at Jefferson Lab, employs linearly polarized photons in the 8-9 GeV range and has commenced its physics data taking. Results from the data set collected in 2017 possess greater precision than previous measurements and/or are the first measurements in this energy regime. The key features of this compelling physics program will be presented with emphasis on the initial observation of several known mesonic resonances and results from the beam asymmetry for light pseudo-scalar and vector mesons. The roadmap towards the search for exotic hybrid mesons will be presented.
Instructions from organizers:
Since the participants will come from both high energy and nuclear communities, please do not assume that audience is already familiar with your experiment or particular exotic hadrons (defined broadly as not ordinary mesons and baryons) your experiments is concerned with. Brief introduction to them, as well as putting any results or plans in a broader context are strongly encouraged. Please cover the present status and future running plans.
