Hi all,

Just wanted to update you on the FDC insertion and testing.

FDC was inserted yesterday and it took about 3 hours (excluding cable
routing on the face of the magnet). Right after that FDC was re-connected
to the gas and cooling system and the LV was turned on. Then looking at
the LV currents, we found one LV connector was disconnected from the
pre-amp (that was OK before); it's in the third package serving 24
half-length strips. Today I was able to look at the connector from
the downstream using a fancy HD videoscope. It looks the connector is in
place (picture attached) just pulled out a little, so we may have a
chance to fix it. I found one wire (yellow) separated from the rest of
the wires that go to the next connector, most likely this wire got caught
somehow during insertion. Dave is working on a tool that can be used to
push the connector and we will try it on Monday. If it doesn't work the
plan is, on Tuesday morning, to get the FDC partially back on the
platform, fix the connector and then push it back in place.

Other than this connector issue, everything else is OK: gas, HV is stable.
Anatoly already tested half of the channels (all the racks at one side)
with a scope and there are no surprises there. The plan is to finish
this tests by Monday.

Regards,
  Lubomir
