Dear GlueX-Collaborators,
Yesterday, the progress in establishing the beam followed the expected schedule, with tuning in arc 8 being currently refined. The expectation is to have the beam on the tagger dump sometime tomorrow (Wed.) morning. Then RF separation for Halls D and B will be set-up and photon beam in Hall D should arrive sometimes Wednesday late afternoon/evening, if all goes well.
The plan is to have the hall in controlled access sometimes this evening. It will stay in controlled access until accelerator is ready for establishing the photon beam, so presumably sometimes Wednesday late afternoon.
Today's shifts are cancelled. Wednesday's shifts are on standby until 4pm, after which they become regular shifts.
Another important news is that the head of beam operation, Arne Freyberger, told us this morning that beam delivery is planned until the 21st. We were not sure until now if the proposed 18th-21st extension was accepted, but happily, it is the case.
Thank you,
Alexandre Deur, Hall D Run Coordinator.
