The shift workers should check their Rad. Worker (RW-I) training status. During MEDCON5 no exams will be taken. However, a 30 days extension can be granted. Let me know if your training expires in a couple of weeks.
Eugene

Subject: Training status
Hi all,
In looking at things we need to manage during this period, we are trying to get a handle on training needs. Here is our plan. We will not support any new radworker-I training, unless the DSO for the division communicates that the people involved are mission critical. This includes services for walk-in taking of tests for new workers, and practical factors sessions. Testing areas at SSC and CEBAF center are also not being staffed.
Our focus will be maintaining qualifications for workers already qualified. One way to manage this in the short term is to provide 30 day extensions of training for any of your mission critical workers who are coming due for requalification in the next few weeks. If you can check your staff for RW-I expirations and let us know who the essential folks are who need to keep the qualification, and send me a list, we will grant them a 30 day extension. Please keep in mind that we can only do this once. If the situation drags on for a long period then we will address other alternatives.
If you have staff that are radworkers and not considered essential, but you want to perhaps establish some contingency for them if they are expiring, you can have them take GERT training. This training is available offsite in the online training system, and there is no proctored test, just the quiz built into the training. This would allow a person whose radworker training expires to at least be able to get through the gate (but not enter RCAs).
Again, just send me a list of folks who might be impacted, and we'll push their expiration out to the extent allowable.
Thanks,
Keith
