Dear collaborators/colleagues/friends,

Hall-D RC report for Saturday 27th of November, 2021

  *   Accelerator
     * Most of day the accelerator was delivering relatively good beam. Major cause of beam down:
        * ~11:40 beam down ~1h. It is not clear for me the reason since it is not detailed in MCC Elog but I guess the reason is --> https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3951550
        *   2L15  down, causing ~2:30h of beam down--> https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3951674, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3951655 and https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3951726
        *
  *   Experiment/Hall
     * As it has been the tendency during these days, the experiment has been running smoothly and the data production is going well.
        * Since the start production on Carbon the total number of triggers (today at 00:57) is ~6,000 M.
     * Alexandre has found energy oscillations up to 8MeV (last Friday was the first time, sorry I haven't seen the entry) in HALLD:p --> https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3951413 . That issue was addressed in the PD/RC meeting where Jay informed that the reason is unknown especially because those oscillations are not observed in HDTGR: p and AD00c (tagger dump position) --> https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3950833. Thank you Alexandre for the detective labor.
     * Because, apparently, there was some confusion about the novel procedure to change diamond orientation and configuration, I published the instruction here --> https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3951524 but in summary
        *   from 0/90 to 45/135 and 45/135 to 0/90 ALWAYS
           *   BEAM OFF and DUMPLETTE
        * from PERP to PARA (with the same orientation)
           *   BEAM OFF
     *

  *   Run Plan
     * run on carbon at 150nA
     * run 250M events or 2h (rates are quite close to those in He, so 2h should be enough)
     * rotate radiators 0/90, 45/135 in PARA and PERP configuration (both)
     * DO NOT TOUCH/CHANGE ANYTHING SENSIBLE THAT COULD NEED THE CALL OF TECHNICIANS!!! <-- this is doing great!!

RC MEETING:

THERE WON'T BE RC MEETING ON SATURDAY!! (Probably, no RC meetings until Monday, unless SOMETHING happens and need to be reported. *fingers cross*)

ANALYSIS MEETING:

NO Analysis meeting on Sunday!! (Fun Fact: Sundays are "days of rest from work" protected in the German constitution, art 139 --> https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/englisch_gg/englisch_gg.html#p0893)

Nevertheless, I would like to invite you to visit the last Analysis meeting --> https://halldweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/Analysis_Shift_Meeting_Agenda,_November_21_-_November_27,_2021

Please, if you think any info in this report is incomplete, inaccurate or even wrong, please do not hesitate to tell me to improve the skills of your humble RC 😉

Thank you!!
