Subject: Update on the beam start


Hi,
         The Schedule Accelerator Maintenance (SAM) met this afternoon and  I have got unofficial update that
the accelerator tentative SAM schedule has been updated to show Physics beam on the 28th of February
BUT they are looking at ways to save time.   Thus, the estimate of the soonest beam could be ready for
physics is the 14th of February.  So I have told the staff, engineers and technicians to prepare for Feb 14th start.
        At this point we still do not have an official run schedule, but for now we assume that the draft schedule
will just be shifted. Doug is meeting with David Dean to discuss the schedule on Friday. As mentioned before , there is
pressure to start the Hall A SBS deinstallation/ MOLLER installation as early as possible which could impact Hall C start up.
I think that it makes the most sense to keep the schedule as it was.
            So the shift schedule can be updated to reflect the possible  Feb 14th start. Hopefully we will get another  update
relatively soon.
