Dear NPWG members,
As you know, the spring CLAS collaboration meeting will be held this time
in Paris and will take the form of a workshop entitled "International
workshop on CLAS12 physics and future perspectives at JLab", see the
announcement below for more details.
Given the workshop's international nature, I am touching base roughly two
months ahead of time to inquire about who among you is planning to attend
this workshop *in person*. In-person attendance is highly encouraged as the
time difference will make it challenging for any virtual participants from
the American continent, but the ZOOM connection info will be still provided
as mentioned below. As usual, we will still have a dedicated session for
our NPWG, so please let me know your plans at your earliest convenience to
get some headcount as well as contributions for our session. So far, I am
aware of one contribution and we still have an opening for a few more.
Additionally, if you need an invitation letter for any trip justification
or visa applications, please let Silvia Nicolai and me know. We will be
happy to help you with that.
Looking forward to hearing from you, and, hopefully, meeting you in Paris!
Best,
Lamiaa

Subject: CLAS12 workshop & Collaboration Meeting in Paris: general
information
To: <clasmbr at jlab.org>
Dear Collaborators,
as announced during the last two CLAS Collaboration Meetings, the spring
meeting will be held in Paris (France), from March 21st to March 24th. It
will have the format of a workshop, including also some non-CLAS speakers.
The workshop title will be "International workshop on CLAS12 physics and
future perspectives at JLab".
The timetable will follow the scheme of the last CLAS meeting (Tue-Thu
morning and evening sessions, Fri only morning session). Attendance in
person is strongly encouraged. Given the time difference, remote attendance
will not be easy, especially, for the morning session - but we will provide
zoom connection nonetheless.
The workshop will take place in the auditorium of the CNRS headquarters, 3
Rue Michel Ange, Paris 16th arrondissement. The registration fee (which we
are working on determining in these days), should be roughly between 100
and 150 euros, and will include two coffee breaks per day, the lunches in
the CNRS cafeteria, plus the excursion and conference dinner. The excursion
will be a visit of the Musée d'Orsay (https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.musee-2Dorsay.fr_fr&d=DwIFaQ&c=CJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw&r=oFpNaB86z9R0_Cm6JnqHF7R2h2vWMtKYuwr2PTSEYoE&m=l-L5QqM8Eg0HHH0OT6-RV5ZHp-brkcMA4aExpkxXGd7g_ZSHamxlCBVIJGA7X-5w&s=yizBH3n-lZFB4kTF27TmdCrQfYlC3IaBUzu_mAHLF1E&e= ) and
the dinner will also be in the museum's restaurant.
The indico page and program are under construction. If possible, it would
be very helpful for our organization if people who are planning to attend
can contact me (silvia at jlab.org) to let me know, so that we can have a
rough idea of how many participants we will have.
Students who want to attend the workshop can apply for travel support at
JSA.
Whoever needs an invitation letter for visa purposes, please get in touch
with me.
I strongly suggest whoever plans to come to start looking for an
accommodation, as Paris has a lot of tourists all year long and finding
hotels may not be straightforward. The workshop venue is in central Paris,
and well served by public transportation (metro lines 9 and 10 and several
buses), so you don't necessarily have to get a hotel nearby. Please contact
me if you have any question.
Looking forward to see you all in Paris in the spring!
Best regards,
Silvia
