Mike,

I agree that we need to come up with some acronyms and hope that we just
need 4 acronyms, correspondingly, I will prepare 4 inspection travelers.
The SOW requires that all kits to be packaged separately and labeled,
refer to Section 7.4 of the SOW for details. So, when QC is checking a
certain kit, there shall be a dropdown list of kit numbers.

Are certifications expected for each kit?
--- Yes.

Will each kit be serialized at the vendor? (No need to mark each part,
just the kit)
---Each kit is assigned a two-digit kit number. Each subassembly within
a kit is serialized and marked. Vendor documents shall carry S/Ns.

How will the kits be identified? (This will help to figure out an
appropriate acronym)
---Please refer to SOW's Section 7.4. By the way, we will received 4*7 =
28 kits.

Besides INV travelers, will the acronyms appear on INSP & ASSY travelers?
--- I think so. INSP travelers will be developed by me. Mark wants me to
adapt the CMASS ASSY traveler, so, I can cite the Cold Mass Assembly
Machined Parts acryonym, e.g. CMASMP, in that traveler. Matt is
responsible to the final assembly traveler. We may advise him to cite
the acronyms for the other 3 kits in his traveler.

Will INV or INSP be conducting the parts audit for the kits?
--- I think INV would be the better place to count parts inside a kit.
INV may perform a simple headcount plus quick visual inspection for
apparent damages.

As I start to write the inspection travelers for these 4 kits, we can
talk more about what to include in the INSP travelers.

Thanks,
Gary
