[Pansophy] P1 Project Travelers - Additional Traveler NAME CHANGE

John et al...

Because of the P1 travelers crossing work centers and the need for us to keep our data-mining and work centers buckets clean...
We would like to change the traveler names which are preparing components (INSP, CHEM, LEAK, etc) to PREP as the work center.
Therefore, P1-CMA-SWP-INSP would be P1-PREP-SWP.
This is preferred in that no one work center is called out as responsible, but rather the SOTR of the component being processed. We are using this nomenclature for the AUP, CEBAF and SRFRD projects currently.
If this is ok with you, Allen will make the changes needed and route your travelers for approval?

Thank you for working with us as we make these changes for the future.

John,

I am sorry for the confusion. Tony has approved an exception for the P1 project and the travelers may cross work-centers.
However, larger projects are requested to follow the new break-down structure. And, FYI, the "bigger picture" is the ability to give data-mining and reporting at projects levels that are being requested constantly, the ability to track parts, to simplify data entry and NCR tracking, .... And many more requests made of the Pansophy Team.

Thank you for your patience and assistance.

All,
Thank You for the reminder. I am trying to understand how creating 3 times as many Travelers vs. asking another work center to fill out their part fits. Effort seems unbalanced to me. Just my two cents, and guessing it's why I didn't act on it. Is there a bigger picture I'm missing?

Hello all,

This is the email mentioned in the P1 meeting. Since it's been a few weeks, the travelers that need to be split up in this manner are P1-CMA-SWP-INSP, P1-CMA-THTD-INSP, and P1-THTS-INSP. Drop them in the new ready for approval folder when they are done and I'll route for approval.

Subject: Traveler revision

Hey all. I hate to be the one to bear bad news, but the P1 travelers that got approved yesterday will need to be revised. They need to be separated into three travelers each; a regular inspection, a leak check inspection, and a weld inspection. The IDs should look something like as follows: P1-CWI-COMP, P1-INSP-COMP, and P1-CMA-COMP-LEAK. Please let me know if you need any additional help in this.

Allen
