[Pansophy] SNS PPU SEC & REC serial numbers

Hi Gary,

We record the serial numbers on the packing slip/crate because the “Data Plate” is not visible until the End Can is uncrated, which could be days after we check it in. Changing or modifying ALL of the serial numbers will have to be done by hand edited in the database, in multiple tables (at least 4) while trying to keep things straight.

I don’t like that there are two serial numbers on one part, ours and the National Board number. If you require this extended serial number format, please have the vendor mark the packing slip with the format you want.

Steve,

Please see below for the correspondences between NB SNs and SEC/REC S/Ns.

srfinv & pansophy teams: can we amend the SECSN and RECSN for PPU to have both the NB and SEC/REC SNs included? For example, SECSN would have 001(2786), 002(2787) & 003(2788) for now. Five more SECs will be added.

Thanks,
Gary

Larry,

Currently, no travelers capture the national board number hence my request. Yes, the National Board number can be found in vendor documents under the "ASME Documentation" section. For the 5 end cans that we ever received (3 of them are returned):

SEC 001 --> NB SN 2786  *returned*
SEC 002 --> NB SN 2787 *returned*
SEC 003 --> NB SN 2788

REC 001 --> NB SN 2793 *returned*
REC 002 --> NB SN 2794

Best,
Gary

Hi Gary,
Is the vendor’s “S/N 2794” already captured in an inventory or inspection traveler, or is it listed anywhere in the voluminous shipping paperwork?

Subject: SNS PPU SEC & REC serial numbers

Hi team,

Steve Dutton brought to my attention that there is confusion on the serial numbers of an end can. See attached picture. On the name plate, there is a "S/N 2794". Then underneath the name plate, there is a serial number "104210700-A001-0-002" that meets SRF PR-P-007 requirement. The former is actually a National Board S/N that is required to show on the nameplate of an ASME stamped vessel. The latter is what SRF PR-P-007 asks for.

To eliminate the confusion caused by dual S/N's for one end can, can we amend the drop down lists for SECSN and RECSN to have a compound serial number like 002(2794), or some other concise but indicative number that carries both NB S/N and SRF S/N?

Thanks,
Gary
