[Pansophy] FW: NB3SN project (Moving parts from C50R/C75 to NB3SN??) Verification and Authority?

Hello Valerie

Aaron checked and the SN for the two DL DL-205 and DL-183 (intended to be used in Nb3SN) are available under the C75 traveler - so we will put the data under C75 . We assume these C75 travelers would eventually become ER5C

Sorry about the confusion -

Would it be possible to close and obsolete the Nb3SN DL Inspection traveler to avoid any future problems ?

Thanks Anne

Good morning Anne,

I checked in pansophy a few minutes ago and the serial numbers DL-205 and DL-183 are available in C75 dogleg traveler. I'll add inspection data into them now.

Thanks,
Aaron

Hi Aaron

When you get in tomorrow, could you please check that the two DL SN DL-205 and DL-183 are available in the C75 DL Traveler ?

As discussed we don't want to use NB3SN travelers any more except for the part like coated cavities that are truly unique - all of the common parts are C75 (eventually will be ER5C)

Please let me know if you have any problems

Thanks Anne

Just a suggestion. These DL can be used interchangably on C75 vrs NB3. The only unique part for NB3 is the cavities that have a special coating. So as long as there is a SN that can ve recorded for the Pair, I think you could use C75. Then if someone decides later to use them on C75 after all, there won't be any problems

Valerie, et. al.,

Is "project name" an attribute associated with a uniquely identified part, or is "project name" an integral element of the part's unique identification? I assume it's the latter. If so, then are we saying a part belongs to a project and can never be used by another project without creating data confusion? Is there a way to identify a part without using "project name" to make it unique; or create a Part ID alias so the "project name" element can be changed without losing its tie to the previously assigned "project name"?

As for traceability, the requirement is that items we want to be traceable must be uniquely identified to prevent unintended usage. We choose the identification system/method.

Tony / Phil / Jacob / Anne,

A request has been made to add DL-183 and DL-205 to the NB3SN DGLGSN list.

Using a Serial Number Search, I found that both of these Doglegs are coming from the ER5C (C50R/C75) project area.

Who Verifies/Validates that these parts are moving out of one project area and into another??

This is where traceability breaks down.
