Thanks for the comments. Below is the updated traveler body with comments incorporated.

Step No.
Instructions
Data Input

General handling guidelines: The bellows are fragile and susceptible to denting if dropped or struck. Great care shall be taken to prevent damage during handling. Both end flanges contain sealing surfaces. Care shall be taken to avoid scratching/gouging these surfaces and protective covers shall be installed over these surfaces at all possible times.
1
Record the Flanged Bellows Assembly Serial Number.
[[FBASN]] <<FBASN>>

2
Perform a 3x cold shock of the FBA in LN2. The part must be submersed in LN2 until visible boiling stops. The part must be warmed up to room temperature between cool downs.
[[ColdShockTech]] <<SRF>>
[[ColdShockTime]] <<TIMESTAMP>>

Was the part cold shocked 3 times?
[[ColdShockComplete]] <<YESNO>>
[[ColdShockComment]] <<COMMENT>>

3
Perform a liquid penetrant test on the welds of the FBA. Record test results and/or images. If the FBA fails the liquid penetrant test, generate an NCR.
[[LPTestTech]] <<SRF>>
[[LPTestTime]] <<TIMESTAMP>>

[[LPTestRecords]] <<FILEUPLOAD>>
[[LPTestImages]] <<FILEUPLOAD>>

Did the part pass the LP Test?
[[LPTestPass]] <<YESNO>>
[[LPTestComment]] <<COMMENT>>

4
All liquid penetrant testing fluid shall be removed from the FBA after the test. The FBA may be sent to chemistry for cleaning if necessary.

[[FBACleaned]] <<YESNO>>
[[FBACleanedTime]] <<TIMESTAMP>>
[[FBACleanedComment]] <<COMMENT>>

5
If the FBA passed the liquid penetrant test, perform a material confirmation of the FBA. All pieces of the FBA should be 316. Record test results. Generate an NCR if the material on any part of the FBA is not 316.
[[MCTestTech]] <<SRF>>
[[MCTestTime]] <<TIMESTAMP>>

[[MCTestRecords]] <<FILEUPLOAD>>

Are all pieces of the part 316?
[[MCTestPass]] <<YESNO>>
[[MCTestComment]] <<COMMENT>>

6
If the FBA passed the liquid penetrant test and material confirmation, the FBA shall be leak checked in accordance with the ER5C-CMA-COMP-LEAK traveler and then returned to inventory until needed for assembly.

Tiffany,

A few comments:
1. You may want to add a statement on generating a NCR to Step 3 since if a FBA fails LPT, we would not want to use it, hence there is no need to execute subsequent steps.
2. Step 4 would also need a statement on generating NCR since even if the material is not 316, e.g. some bellows vendors use 321 stainless steel, we might still use the bellows.
3. Is cleaning of FBA going to be done after final leak check? Maybe that shall be in the end dish assembly traveler
4. Maybe add a step 5 to this traveler to transition to final leak check after steps 1-4 are all done with no issues.

Thanks,
Gary

Thanks Jenord. Marcus should have the ability to record data in the traveler and should be in the drop down menu for the LPTestTech field. If any issues are encountered when filling in the traveler, please let me know and I’ll work with the Pansophy team to get it corrected.

I have no concerns with the traveler as it is. I have copied Marcus Anthony on this email. He will be involved with the welding related QA/QC portions of this project as well. Please provide him with the permissions needed to populate the traveler and copy him on these emails going forward.

Thanks.

Subject: ER5C Flanged Bellows Assembly Testing

Hi All,

Below is a screen shot of a draft traveler for the Flanged Bellows Assembly (11151-0216, FBA) testing we discussed today. I have put the cold shock, liquid penetrant testing, and material certification on the one traveler. There is already a traveler in place that we can use for the leak check (ER5C-CMA-COMP-LEAK) after the liquid penetrant testing. Please let me know if you have any comments or concerns with the draft below. I would like to get this traveler out for approval as soon as possible so that I can get the bellows to Fischer to start the cold shocks.
