Hi Gigi,

We can come up with some acronyms for these Getters & NEG pumps and get them into the system. We still have a number of these parts in the system, so once we have acronyms, I will see what I can do about figuring out if we can match serial number to the inventory records (probably next week).

I would strongly suggest adding the acronyms to the travelers to help with the traceability.

I will work on identifying all the various Getter & NEG Pumps that have been received to collect; Part Numbers, Part Names, and (potential) acronyms.

Hi Mike,

were all the three issues you listed been resolved at some point or they persist?

Thanks,

Gigi

Hi Gigi,

We did not record the serial number for this part for a number of reasons.

1. These parts were never given an acronym for the traveler system.

2. Without an acronym, these parts do not meet the requirement for traceability.

3. It was unclear whether the Lot # of the Reference # should be used as the Serial Number.

Due to the reasons given above, I have no additions information to provide.

Hi Mike,

I vaguely remember that the vendor includes a part list with the serial numbers for each item in the box they ship to us: is that not the case?

Thanks,

Gigi

Hi Gigi,

Sorry , but I have no specific information on that particular part. Most of the NEG Pumps come wrapper in silver/gray clean room packaging with no serial number visible. So when we receive these, all we can do is check them in by part number only.

Subject: NEG pump

Good morning Mike,

we are trying to find information (PO, Primes, etc.) about a NEG pump with the following serial numbers:

CF Capacitor# D9424
Capacitorr C 200 Getter assembly with cage# H0495100012

Chris D. found this pump at his desk. We usually buy them for a specific cryomodule or girder assembly, so I'd like to find out for what project was this pump bought for. I understand all the NEG pumps we received are logged into the inventory. If it's not there, do you still have the part lists from the shipments?

Thanks,

Gigi
