Dear Colleagues,
Please find attached an IPAC'24 abstract describing the status of the Ce+BAF concept. I chose to focus on four updates, but we can adapt as we approach the conference. Please send me your comments by Monday 8am EDT. In particular, if an update to your funding Acknowledgment please let me know.
cheers,
Joe
Title: Status of positron beams at Jefferson Lab (Ce+BAF)
Presenter: Joe Grames (on behalf of the Ce+BAF working group)
Abstract:
The addition of positron beams to the 12 GeV Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility (CEBAF) would provide a significant capability to the experimental nuclear physics program at Jefferson Lab. A start-to-end concept for the generation of positron beams with required spin polarization, intensity and continuous-wave bunch train was presented at IPAC’23 [1]. In this contribution updates to four areas are described: (1) polarized electron injector lattice parameters, (2) operating modes which provide primary and secondary-like electron beams, (3) radiation shielding in the positron target and collection region, and (4) properties of the positron beams at the experimental target areas.
Keywords:
High duty-cycle positron beams, high positron beam polarization, PEPPo polarization transfer technique.
