Subject: [EXTERNAL] PPU weekly update


This week the PPU project updated presentations for the upcoming IPR project review in Sept., including preparation of additional project controls material. At JLab, cryomodule 1 has moved into the space frame/thermal shield assembly stage and string two is being pumped down following a gate valve assembly replacement. In the RF area the new klystron CD-3b long lead procurement fabrication is moving well with 11 of the 12 items complete. Also reworked RF loads are received from a vendor. In the ring area the new foil changer is being procured. In the target area bids arrived for the moderator/convertor assembly, and test target 1 is scheduled to ship to SNS this week, on track for installation this fall. Klystron gallery work is progressing well, with completion of the RF waveguide installation on the tunnel wall side, and cable pulls in the target building basement are ongoing for the upgraded off gas carbon absorber systems.
