Folks,
As announced at the Hall B meeting yesterday, we are organizing an informal review for JLab Physics Division and
Hall B to go over schedule, status, issues/concerns, and manpower associated with the upcoming CLAS12 RG-L/ALERT
experiment that begins in Jan. 2025 with the goal to ensure that things are on track to have everything ready, to
commission the new ALERT detector, and to begin production data taking.
The review is scheduled for Oct. 10 (next Thursday) from 9-11:30 a.m.. It will take place in L102 for those onsite
and via Zoom <https://jlab-org.zoomgov.com/j/16083693689?pwd=ZUJLOFhucHNQMmZ4UkgvR1VoTm1WZz09&omn=1605656120> for those offsite.
I have created a wikipage <https://clasweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/CLAS12_ALERT_OCT2024_Review> with the agenda and the slides will be posted when they are available. The review will
have 3 main presentations:
> Hardware status (Whitney Armstrong)
> Software status (Michael Paolone)
> Organization (Raphael Dupre)
The attached file contains a more detailed list of what will be discussed/covered in each presentation.
The review is “informal” in the sense that a review committee has not been formed and a formal charge will not be
prepared. However, it is important to understand the current status of ALERT preparations and the schedule moving
forward, to identify areas where manpower is lacking, and to identify issues/concerns that could impact readiness.
The outcome of the review will be a full schedule for ALERT tasks that will be used as a basis for tracking the status
of the preparations for the run over the next 3 months.
Please distribute this review announcement to folks in your group who should attend if they are not already on the
distribution list. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Regards,
Daniel
(RG-L Physics Division Liaison)
