We are pleased to announce the next "HSF/IRIS-HEP Software Basics
Training" (virtual) from 28–30 Sep 2022. (NOTE: It was previously
called HSF/IRIS-HEP "Software Carpentry Training"). Registration is

The workshop will cover software basics such as git, unix shell,
introductory python, and domain-specific software such as interacting
with ROOT files.
The timing of this training workshop should be ideal for any new
research students (graduate or undergraduate) who may be starting in
your groups this fall term.
