[Dsg-rich] would future RICH assemblies require an additional gas tank and panel?

Hello Marco Mirazita and Marco Contalbrigo,

The current set-up for any tests in the EEL requiring cooling and a nitrogen purge includes using the gas tank and panel designed by George Jacobs. When the first RICH sector (RICH #1) is installed in Hall B, the gas tank and panel will need to go to Hall B as well to provide cooling air and the nitrogen purge. When RICH #1 is in Hall B and assembly begins on any future RICH sector, we will not have this gas tank or gas panel in the EEL building.

While the need for the second gas tank and panel would not be until after RICH #1 is installed in Hall B, should we plan on procuring and assembling an additional RICH gas tank and panel for use in the EEL building? Looking back at our procurement lists, the cost of the additional tank and panel is estimated at ~$20,000.

Please let us know.

Regards,
Tyler
