Hi Greg,
I went back and checked all the connectors. It appears half of the connectors (20) are alright. The connectors that arrived later, seem be problematic ones.
I also tried the screws from the "old" and current orders, both screws fit the old strain relief, but not the new ones.
Take care,
Mindy

Hi Aaron, Brian and all,
Happy New Year to you too! Another year, another problem with Radiall pieces?!? :-(
There is clearly a difference between the two pieces. I'll talk to Gianni and the CAEN HV people tomorrow morning when they're back in the office. I suppose it could be QAQC or incorrect screws, but whatever the issue we need to get it resolved.
How many pieces are we talking about? Is it the whole last order?
Best,
Greg

That was going to be my guess as well. From the top down picture it looks like the threaded portion on the new ones have a slightly bigger diameter compared to the old ones.

Mindy, I've looped in Greg.
Hi Greg,
First, Happy New Year!
Please see below the email from Mindy (and attachments) regarding the strain relief for the Radiall 52-pin connectors.
I wonder if it's possible that the connectors were shipped with the wrong screws?
That's really the only reason I can think of for this situation.
If anyone else has any ideas...

Subject: [Dsg-hallc_nps] Radiall connector
I have a new issue with the Radiall connectors. The last five connectors I tried to attach have strain relief screws that won't tighten. I tried one from a previous order, it tightened properly. The first picture shows the strain relief attached to a connector. The second picture is a top view of the strain relief. They look like they're made of different materials, the old ones are shinier. The last picture is a side by side view, the screw holes look like the depths are different.
The screws are slightly loose in the holes, even before I try to attach them to the connector. Poor quality control?
